"The New Design Team for 2012
So please help us to make them feel Welcome to the SO Family
Here they are in no particular order
Tina Connolly
I'm a wife, mother, small business owner (car detailing), and totally obsessed scrapper. With two daughters, I have an unending supply of girly photos to scrap, just begging to be embellished. My inspiration comes from the photos, and the feelings that they envoke.
My preferred genre is layouts, but I do enjoy cardmaking, OTP, stamping (mainly on layouts) and doing canvases. I love the creative process, and combining different techniques and textures. I'm addicted to using chipboard and flowers on my layouts, and must admit I love doing multiple techniques on chipboard, as it's so durable and versatile.
I have taught layout, OTP, and card classes at my local scrapbooking store for the past two years. I have been published in a number of online magazines, and in Australian Scrapbooking Ideas (Issue 3)
Sandrine Dawes
My name is Sandrine Dawes, I live in Roma, QLD. I am originally from France (I still have that strong French accent) and have been in Australia for 13 years.I have been scrapbooking for 5 years, I have a 6 year-old boy and an 18 months daughter, they are my favourite subjects for scrapbooking. I am currently on the Fat Cats Card Corner Design Team and a kit designer for Circle of Friends, I was on the Word or Whatever Chipboard Design Team for the past 6 months, my work has been published in Scrapbook Creations, Scrapbooking Memories, Australian Stamping and Papercraft Magazine. I would describe my style as freestyle, with a hint of vintage. I absolutely love making my own embellishments using punches and dies, I also put a lot of effort in the details, always trying to do something different on each layout. I am completely ecstatic about being part of the Scrapping Outback Design Team and looking forward to know my new family!
Kim Kendell
I have been scrapping now for over 10 years and would have to say I addicted.
I love what can be done with paper and different media and I am finding that I really am getting right into the multimedia I feel it allows for a lot more self-expression on a LO or OTP I hope through my term with Scrapping Outback that I can share some of my ideas with you all.
I am a mum to Malina and a partner to Donald and an Aunty to many nieces and nephews all of whom are my source of photos.
I have experienced many different design terms over my scrapping career and have been published online and in print. I find that scrapping is an outlet from the pressures of day to day life.
My favourite lines would have to be Graphic 45 and Prima as well as Basic Grey and I just love doing vintage and shabby vintage.
Romy Veul
Hi! My name is Romy Veul and I'm an 18 year old scrapaholic from the Netherlands. I live in a village near Amsterdam toegether with my parents, my two brothers and our pets. At the moment I'm in my first year of University: I study Dutch language and (applied) linguistics in our capital city. My dream is to become a reporter or to have my own magazine some day. But until that time, I'm just enjoying being a teen. I love to spend time with friends, to be creative and to make sure I capture all those special moments with my camera. Creativity has always been a big part of my life. I've been a craft-addict since the moment I started kindergarten. There are many hobbies that I've tried: I've made jewelry, 3D cards, home decoration items... You name it and I did it;) But after a while I was always looking for something new. That was until the moment I attended a workshop scrapbooking at my high school, about five years ago. I was hooked immediately and that has never changed. Since I started at University my life has become a bit busier, but it also means that I cherish my scrappy time in the evenings even more.
'Im currently on the design team for Bo Bunny, My Creative Scrapbook, Scrap for Help and Simpel Scrappen and feel very humbled to be part of these fabulous teams. I would define my style of scrapbooking as layered, shabby chic and detailed. My favourite part of scrapbooking is always adding the details: chipboard, flowers, seam binding and glitters...it makes me so happy to just play around with my goodies. I do both layouts and cards: sometimes I seem to be more in a card mood, while the day after I prefer creating on a 12x12 sheet of paper again.
Lately I've been quite addicted to laser-cut chipboard. The chipboard is so versatile and it can add a wonderful, whimsical twist to your page. So I was really honoured when I received an e-mail asking me if I'd like to join the Scrapping Outback DT. I can't wait to start playing with the gorgeous chipboard and to get to know you all better!
We are looking forward to working with these very talented Ladies and hope that they will inspire and bring fresh and new ideas to SO. "
